You must be over 18 to purchase cigarettes. If you are under 18 and you are sold cigarettes then the seller can also be fined a significant amount.

It is also illegal for an adult to purchase cigarettes for a minor.

There are a number of public areas where smoking is not allowed, such as malls, shopping centres, outside public buildings and inside and outside of restaurants. It is important to be sure you are able to smoke before you light up as hefty fines can be imposed on you.

It is also illegal to smoke in a car that has a person under the age of 16 in it.
