Full-Time Employment

A full-time employee is someone who works 38 hours or more per week on a permanent basis or for the period of their contract.

You are a permanent employee if you have regular hours and days of work, and a reasonable expectation that your job will continue.

The mimimum entitlements under the National Employment Standards apply to full-time employees, including the maximum paid annual leave and paid sick leave entitlements (usually 20 days leave each year and 10 days sick leave each year, but this can vary depending on your Award).

Full-time employees are also entitled to get paid when they are absent from work due to a public holiday.
